ERIN has tied-up with US based consulting companies for
bringing world class technical expertise to emerging environmental
engineering issues in India.
ERIN also tied up with Karnataka Cleaner
Production Centre, Bangalore
to work on specific projects. KCPC was established as the first regional
centre in the country, as a part of the initiative taken earlier by the
National Cleaner Production Centre (New
Delhi), UNIDO and UNEP. KCPC was subsequently closed
down by the state government, but Erin has
continued with its initiatives.
ERIN ties up with Pharma Industry for "CP Circle of Excellence for Pharma":

Consultants and representatives of Karnataka Drugs and Pharmaceutical
Industry met in Bangalore
on February 5, 2003 at a workshop organized in association with the Karnataka Cleaner
Production Centre, and agreed in principle for a long term initiative to establish a base for
Cleaner Production in Karnataka Pharmaceutical Industry. This was a follow-up
session based on the introductory three- day program that was organized in
the year 2002 by ERIN and KCPC near Mysore. The
CP Circle of Excellence held its first
monthly meeting on March 14 year 2003 at the KDPMA premises in the
city.
Dr M.A.R. Iyengar
is Senior Advisor in the Environmental Engineering Division. He has the
support of environmental, mechanical and chemical engineers. The target
industrial areas are: pharmaceuticals, foundries and auto component industry,
food processing, industrial estates and quarrying.
